New England Patriots vs Denver Broncos AFC Championship Game Tips & Predictions

New England are tipped to progress and cover the -4.5 line in the AFC Championship, but this won’t be flashy. This is a controlled, defence-driven playoff game where discipline and selective aggression decide the outcome and the Patriots are better built for that equation.

Drake Maye’s error-prone outing last week came against an elite Houston defence that ranked top-five in opponent scoring, passing and rushing defence. Denver don’t present that same level of pressure. New England have survived protection issues all season, ranking 27th in QB sack rate, yet continue to win because their defence limits damage and consistently creates short fields.

Denver’s defence is strong, but Buffalo exposed vulnerabilities. Chunk plays occurred on the ground and through quarterback movement, with Josh Allen and James Cook both finding space. That’s where New England can hurt them. Rather than pushing volume through the air, expect designed movement, controlled passing, and increased reliance on legs.

That approach keeps the total down and places value on rushing props. Drake Maye’s mobility and Rhamondre Stevenson’s explosiveness are both positioned to punish a defence that struggled to contain dynamic runners last week.

With Denver now forced to rely on a backup quarterback, New England’s advantage in stability, experience and situational football should show across four quarters.
